Dram Tree 08 Titles - Potter's Raid
Dram Tree Books* has scheduled a number of Civil War-related books (mostly centered on the Wilmington area) for publication later on this year. The most intriguing title (for me anyway) might be a study of Potter's Raid, titled likely enough -- Potter's Raid: The Union Cavalry's Boldest Expedition in Eastern North Carolina by David A. Norris (Sept. 08).
The funny thing is is I thought "The" Potter's Raid took place in 1865 in South Carolina...I gathered from the brief publisher's description that this is an entirely different operation, and the online transcription of an earlier Potter's Raid article Norris published in North Carolina Historical Review [Volume LXXIII, No. 1, Jan. 1996] confirms it.
* - I liked an earlier title from Dram Tree's catalogue well enough [review] to recommend it.

Drew,
Glad you are giving this book a mention. Dram Tree publishes some good works, and I'm sure this will be no different. I know the author personally and he has put a lot of time into researching this topic. I also think he's a gifted writer, which isn't always the case with historians.

Andrew,
Thanks for your thoughts, esp. about the author as I am unfamiliar with his work. That "wild" Wilmington book looks like it might be interesting as well.
