Crook military bio

George Crook is best known as an Indian fighter (ante and postbellum), but he had an extensive (and I would say quite uneven by my reading) Civil War career as well. This period will be the subject of what I hope will be a very enlightening military biography published later this year. Paul Magid's George Crook: From the Redwoods to Appomattox (U of Okla Press) is scheduled for September.
