Important new T-M series by Donald S. Frazier

April 2008 will see the first volume of a four book series by Donald S. Frazier chronicling the Civil War in Texas and Louisiana from beginning to end. Fire In The Cane Field: The Federal Invasion of Louisiana and Texas, January 1861 - January 1863 (State House Press) will be followed by:
  • Thunder Across the Swamp: The Fight for the Lower Mississippi, February 1863–May 1863.
  • Blood on the Bayou: The Campaigns of Tom Green's Texans, June 1863–February 1864.
  • Death at the Landing: The Contest for the Red River and the Collapse of Confederate Louisiana, March 1864–June 1865.
Frazier is a great researcher and writer (and a fine cartographer I might add). I can't think of anyone better equipped to undertake such a monumental project. Perhaps more than one Pate Award lies in there.

  2. Art,
I was pleasantly surprised at the scope of the project. I believe initial plans were for a Sibley/Green brigade sequel-of-sorts to "Blood and Treasure", and now we have this expansive four volume series. I couldn't be more pleased at its prospects.
