  1. There are several titles of interest on that list. Earl Hess has been working on that particular book for several years, and it promises to be a good one.

  2. Art,
I see at least 5 or 6 must-buys in there. BTW, I was looking through Alexander Mendoza's CV in preparation for my review of his Longstreet book and noticed he is contributing to a forthcoming book you and Larry Hewitt are editing for UT Press, "Confederate Generals in the Western Theater". Sounds like another project to look forward to.

  3. Hello Drew

As always, it is good to hear what is being published in the near future.

Nice to hear about the Confed. General book by Univ. Tenn. Press. I also believe that Gary Joiner will be the editor for a new series by the press. Not sure when that series will be start to be published. They are really doing a good job with their publishing.

Dr Hess's completion of his study on trench warfare in the east should also be very good. I had heard he was going to do the same thing on the western theater?

The book on Shiloh is going to be the first in a series on the western battles. With Steven Woodworth acting as the editor, it should be very worthwhile.

This post is very good news for us bibliophiles.

    Regards
    Don Hallstrom

  4. Larry and I are working with UT Press on what we hope will be a series of volumes on Confederate generals in the Western Theater. The first will be reprints of articles by the likes of T. Harry Williams, Richard McMurry, and others. Subsequent volumes will all contain original essays. We have submitted two manuscripts so far. We are also are hopeful of getting UT Press to do at least two volumes of essays on Confederate generals in the Trans-Mississippi Theater.
