Hello Drew
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. I was hoping Gordon Rhea's concluding volume would be published in the spring. Perhaps it will be ready in the fall. The Granbury's Brigade book looks interesting.

Don,
ReplyDeleteHave you read McCaffrey's Granbury brigade history (I haven't)? I guess it was thought valuable enough for Texas A&M to reprint it.
Hello Drew
ReplyDeleteI read it shortly after it was published. Honestly I don't remember what I thought about it. What interested me in the title was that I knew so little of this body of troops. Now that another book on the same subject is out, it may be interesting to take a look at McCaffrey's.
Concerning other new titles I'm looking forward to see if there are any new titles in Univ. Tenn. series on the war in the west.
Also very glad to hear the news on Dave Powell's blog that Savas will be publishing a multi-volume set on Chickamauga. Tentatively they are discussing something similar to Joseph Harsh's 3 volume set on Maryland Campaign.
I'd also heard that Glenn Robertson was planning to finally publish a book on Chickamauga? I wonder if that will change? I thought I heard UNC was publishing that?
Regards
