One of the more gratifying aspects of Sesquicentennial publishing has been the sudden appearance of titles dealing with the conflict years in the Far West. I remarked earlier about
Civil War Wests: Testing the Limits of the United States (Feb '15), but the same publisher (University of California Press) will be releasing yet another subject-related essay collection the following month
Empire and Liberty: The Civil War and the West edited by Virginia Scharff (March '15). Something Civil War-y got into UC Press's cheerios.
