A nice looking history of a 12-month Georgia regiment that served initially at Pensacola and then in the mountains of western Virginia (at Laurel Hill, Cheat Mountain, Greenbrier River, and Romney) before being mustered out in March 1862. Also includes a roster.
2. Vaqueros in Blue & Gray by Jerry D. Thompson (State House Pr, 2000).
Originally published by Presidial Press in 1977, the 2000 ed. contains an updated list of over 4,000 soldiers of Hispanic descent that served in both armies. The main text comprises a brief summary of the Civil War along the Rio Grande.
