There was no doubting that a stream of Gettysburg books would be arriving this month and next.
A Field Guide to Gettysburg: Experiencing the Battlefield through Its History, Places, and People
by Carol Reardon and Tom Vossler (UNC Pr, 2013).The preview from a while back. My positive impression has not changed.
I also received an advanced copy of The Battle of Big Bethel: Crucial Clash in Early Civil War Virginia
from the publisher. I've been waiting for a history of this fight for a long time, and skipped on the Quarstein
title in anticipation of the Savas Beatie publication. It looks like I won't be disappointed.
