Last week, the University of Texas Press announced
The Texas Bookshelf project, a series of 16 volumes spanning the state's culture and history that promises to "be the most ambitious and comprehensive publishing endeavor" of its kind. Alas, there's no Civil War & Reconstruction focused volume, although the period might merit mention in the general history book that kicks it off.
