Drew,
ReplyDeleteI can shed some light on this one for you. Chris Meekins works at the NC State Archives and is enrolled in the Ph.D. program at UNC-Greensboro. His dissertation research deals with the Civil War in the contentious region of northeastern NC, so this book is right up his alley. He actually did a presentation at a symposium commemorating the 145th anniversary of the Battle of Elizabeth City on this topic.
As for the publisher, I think you are correct. They mainly publish local histories. I think this will be a good book, because Chris seems to be pretty much on the ball.
Hi Andrew,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and filling me in. Now I definitely want a copy.
