Ironclad reprints

It looks like a handful of Ironclad Publishing titles will be reissued next spring by Savas Beatie in revised and expanded editions.

March 2011:
* Flames Beyond Gettysburg: The Confederate Expedition to the Susquehanna River, June 1863 by Scott Mingus.

April:
* Gettysburg's Forgotten Cavalry Actions: Farnsworth's Charge, South Cavalry Field, and the Battle of Fairfield, July 3, 1863 by Eric Wittenberg.
* A Little Short of Boats: The Civil War Battles of Ball's Bluff and Edwards Ferry, October 21 - 22, 1861 by James Morgan.

May:
* The Second Day at Gettysburg: The Attack and Defense of the Union Center on Cemetery Ridge, July 2, 1863 by David Shultz and David Wieck.

I am glad to see that Morgan's great book will be in hardcover (the rest appear to remain in paperback).

  1. Hello Drew!

This second edition of the sold-out Flames Beyond Gettysburg is a much improved book, with all new maps by cartographer Steve Stanley. Since the publication of the first edition, so many people have sent me copies of previously unpublished diaries, letters, journals, etc. and hundreds of local newspaper have been loaded on-line, including some with interesting information previously not available to researchers.

There are more than 100 such new incidents, stories, anecdotes, and human interest stories that add depth and richness to the narrative.

  2. Hi Drew

Thanks for mentioning the forthcoming publication of these important CW studies. Each will be completely re-done (edits, formatting, design, layout, and cover/jacket). We hope readers will be very happy when they see them.
