Used hardcover copies are certainly easy to find in bookstores at low prices, however, older books of this type are almost invariably beat up to some degree or another. They are really wonderful.
ReplyDeleteA neat complement to them are Welsh's books on the Medical Histories of Union and Confederate Generals. That really adds another dimension to the officers and makes for fascinating reading.

Chris, I agree completely. I keep all four together, and routinely when writing, or editing/reviewing manuscripts I reach for them and read. And then get lost in the books for an hour or so. :)
