Shea update

William Shea has confirmed that his next book, Fields of Blood: The Prairie Grove Campaign, will be released next fall by UNC Press. The publisher's presentation of his Pea Ridge study (co-authored with Earl Hess) was near perfection. Hopefully, Prairie Grove will get the same treatment.

  1. I loved the Pea Ridge book, and am anxiously waiting for Praire Grove. I wish Hess and Shea all the best with this title, and am confident it will be an outstanding contribution to the literature.

My only lament is that Savas Beatie will not be publishing it! It is something right up our alley.

  2. Hello Drew

Thanks for the update. Like Ted, I really enjoyed the Pea Ridge study. Really looking forward to get a much better understanding of Praire Grove. UNC Press continues to publish first rate material in their Civil War America Series.

I believe this is also the timeframe for the final book in Gordon Rhea's study of the The Overland Campaign by LSU Press to be released.

You also posted a while back about some upcoming releases from Savas Beatie. Specifically you mentioned a battlefield atlas. Were there other Civil War titles in the information you received.

Thanks for continuing to update us on upcoming titles.

    Best Regards

Thanks for mentioning the books. I will be happy to provide you with covers and more if you want to expand the discussion into a regular posting that more people will take notice of. Just holler if you need info.
